Davey .. Great Britain
When
we arrived in Italy, we tried the Italian school system, both
state and private and our son basically had a horrible time.
A portion of this was due to the language barrier, but some of
the cause was not linguistic. We found the system to be very
rigid, and strict in a way that was not conclusive, in our
opinion, to children learning happily. Our once happy and
outgoing little boy became sad and withdrawn. This all changed
on Day One at Westminster. Our son changed from boy who hated
school to boy who wanted to go at the weekend too. From his
perspective, he was in a friendly environment where he felt
respected and unthreatened, and where he enjoyed the learning
experience. From our perspective, we saw him grow in
confidence, learn useful skills happily and return to his chirpy
former self. His reading and conversational skills, as well as
his overall demeanor, improved dramatically in a short period of
time. The System used by your school clearly worked well for
him, and for us the saddest part of my early recall to UK was
that he would have to leave Westminster.
I can only thank you
for the grounding he has received and wish you, the staff and
the school all the very best with the wonderful work you are
doing with the children there.
