SCHOOL OBJECTIVES

 

1.         To provide an academic programme that is sequential and relevant to the needs of all

students.

2.         To provide an academic programme that is balanced and rigorous.

3.         To implement an inquiry based approach to learning using the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization.

4.         To provide support for students who wish to sit Italian examinations.

5.         To ensure that all students gain experience, and an appreciation of the creative and

performing arts.

6.         To provide a physical education programme that is inclusive, and promotes sound physical development and the acquisition and development of individual skills.

7.         To provide opportunities for cooperative games and team sports.

8.         To provide a health education programme that is relevant, consistent, and sequential and age appropriate.

9.         To provide opportunities for students to pursue interests through a variety of after-school

activities.

10.        To provide a clearly articulated and demonstrated programme of social/emotional

development and support throughout the school.

11.        To provide each student with the technology skills that are age-appropriate to the

educational and social requirements of contemporary society.

12.        To provide opportunities for the appropriate use of technology within and throughout the

academic programme.

15.        Wherever possible to provide for a broad variety of cultural sources and references within the academic programme.

16.        To provide all students with a cultural appreciation of the host nation.

17.        To develop an appreciation of the host country through a language programme that is

accessible to all students in Year 1 to Year 5.

18.        To demonstrate and foster a respect for cultural difference and basic human rights.

19.        To provide opportunity for all students to contribute to the amelioration of poverty, hunger

or disease through both school based and external aid and charity organizations.

20.        To demonstrate through the actions of the constituent members of the school community a commitment to the values espoused in the school philosophy.

23.        To demonstrate through positive action a respect and responsibility for the local

environment, and through school programmes a wider responsibility for the natural

environment.

24.        To provide sufficient and adequate information to parents and students with regard to the

content, structure and assessment of all academic programmes, both prior to admission and regularly thereafter.

25.        To provide teachers with adequate in-service opportunities to support curriculum initiatives and to ensure that they are kept abreast of current research on best practices within International education.
